anni & cali

Devon and I celebrated our 4th anniversary on the 16th of June. We are in love. I know he loves me because:
  1. He is willing to get out of the car in bumper to bumper traffic on a road trip(a canyon road) and allow me to pee into a 44oz QT cup and let me hand it to him to dump out in the wilderness.
  2. Take care of me in the hospital when I had our babies. He did some pretty nurse-ish jobs for me and I will forever be grateful.
  3. He gets the biggest thrill out of surprising me with even the littlest things. Sometimes big.
  4. He listens to my talking and talking and when I get the feeling he isn't listening and accuse him of that he repeats back to me every word.
  5. When I complain that I feel fat he comes home with candy and Dr. Pepper so I don't feel that way. Such a guy thing to do to solve that but I just feel fatter afterwards. It's the thought that counts :)
  6. When we decide to go out to eat or to a movie or whatever he always wants me to choose where & what. I want him to choose sometimes but he insists I do. (Maybe it's because I am easier to be with when I pick...)
  7. When he sees I am having a hard day he takes the kids to run errands with him to give me a break.
I could go on and on but that is just a few of the wonderful things he does that make him Mr. Right.
How's that for my "mushy-anniversary-my-husband-is-better-than-your-husband" post???

Don't you love the romantic-ness of his Bass Pro Shop hat?!? ;)
My mom, sisters, and I go on annual trips together and have been planning a trip to Cali for this year. It was a dream. SO SO SO fun. We ate, laughed our heads off at youtube videos, went to the movies, talked, shopped, shopped, shopped, ate, laid on the beach, and sat in L.A. traffic A LOT. This was pretty fun and These next 4 pictures are pretty much the same thing but in different places
 B.J.'s
 Outlets
 Lucille's BBQ
A Christmas Story lamp at the restaurant.

Guess what kind of store this was for?

The day we left we realized that someone tried to break in to my sister's car that night it sat in the hotel parking lot. Good thing we took all of our shopping bags in the hotel room with us when we got back the night before! It was very fun and we are so blessed to have each other and be able to go on these trips and return safe and sound with our "mom batteries" recharged.

Before I was a mom...

Did I know that I would be a worry wart?
Did I know that I was going never go a week with out waking up in the night?
Did I know my body was going to turn into this monster that holds on to extra weight like there's no tomorrow?
Did I know that I was going to get puked, spit, pooped on or snot wiped all over me?
Did I know that I would be lucky if I get to sit down for 5 minutes to breathe?
Did I know my activities and outings would consist of play dates at chick-fil-a and the splash pad?
Did I know that I was going to go a very very very long time with out having a pedicure and trying to do my own and ruining it 5 times because of having to chase after my toddlers?
Did I know that I would be a clean freak and clorox wipes would become my best friends?
Did I know my online shopping excitement consists of shopping for kids clothes?
Did I know I would want time to stand still forever?
Did I know what it felt like to have mini panic attacks every 5 minutes at the park when I realize I can't see my child in sight?
Did I know I was going to memorize the isles at the grocery store and plan my shopping so that I can get in and out in 10 minutes?
Did I know church would become the cause of my back and feet problems. I would rather my butt fall asleep because that would mean I could actually sit on it.
Did I know bodies of water, large or small, would make my heart pound and make my eyes turn into a hawks?
Did I know what it feels like to really be proud of someone, let a lone, a really little someone?
Did I realize how terrified I am for the future of this world?
Did I really know how blessed I was to have made the choices I did that led me here?
Did I know how exciting it would be to take a shower/bath alone?
Did I know I would be doing at least 1 load of laundry a day?
Did I know I would be a pro at the "eyeballs popping out/lips pursed" "you are in so much trouble" face?
Did I know that I would have to get ready extra early for something because I have to clean up a mess that was made while I was getting ready?
Did I know that I would be getting costco boxes of fruit snacks, chicken nuggets, and milk because we can't survive with out them?
Did I know It would be critical for me to erase words like "crap, shoot, butt, etc." out of my vocabulary?
Did I know what it felt like to feel the spirit in my own home just time 3 amazing people?
Did I know how much love would fill my heart?

Let me know if I missed any!

Distractions

 They are my sunshines
That I love to spend my days with.

For the second day in a row I made these
Per husbands request
And did this...
So they turned out like this.

 And we got this
Our 7 week old Queensland Heeler, Cheyenne

And Maverick has a girlfriend (side note: that's a good view of his scars)

She is very cute :) Baby cleavage is the best kind.
And Lacy and Steffan's new adorable baby girl Millie. She is perfect and such a sweet, good little baby! Love her.

These are all wonderful things to distract me from this.

Alpine

The town where our family's cabin that my grandparents (my mom's parents) built in the 70's, is currently being evacuated due to the Willow forest fire. We are so sick and heart broken because of the many memories shared here at this cabin and in this town. It is such a beautiful place and like nothing else. We are praying that the town and our cabin can remain safe from the fire and are so sad for those who have already been effected by it.

We were lucky enough to be able to take a girls trip to the cabin and leave the day before it got evacuated.

Maverick getting into the fridge= his fave thing to do

Love this place
All the kids enjoying their treats from the Lollipop Shoppe
Love seeing the Elk but hate seeing all the smoke in the background
